Spring Cleaning

Spring is upon us and for me it is time for long awaiting Spring cleaning at the garden, this has been 3 week process and we are finally finished. Ever since I was a kid I had to help my parents with Spring cleaning from morning to dawn for few weeks in every spring. I always hated doing it and would much rather work on the farm on my garden or playing with animals.

Fortunately even though I hated Spring cleaning, I gained the understanding of the importance of it from young because when this time of the year rolls around I very naturally get to work on Spring cleaning and this year its a much needed one.

This year I was determined to get rid of some of the “antiques” from the yard like below picture

oldcar

although we really enjoy these sorts of things in the yard, some of it was just time to go. There is only so much Antiques you can hold on your lawn before you run out of space.

We had to hire a towing company to do the job for us, fortunately we knew a friend of ours that was willing to do it for very reasonable price. So that was great

While Spring cleaning the barn we found many old stuff that brought back a lot of nastalgic memories, and it was pretty fun process. Some were things I remember seeing when I was in grade school, it is pretty amazing those things never really leave your memory. Just holding the item seems to transport you back to those times as if you just entered a time machine.

As the spring cleaning proceeded we made big headway in the first week, using our hands and sheer hard work removing much of the unneeded misc from yard and taking care of brushing the barn clean.

In week two we took care of the big stuff, some we hauled using our tractor the other junk we had to use the towing company but the key thing was that we got it done and out of the yard, this made a big difference in our lawn and we are very happy we did it because this is something we’ve been putting off for many years and we finally did it! and It was so bad as we thought. The towing guys were of great help for us. They were great guys too, we made them some home made lemonade which they thoroughly enjoyed, and left them a fat tip for their troubles. Their company is called Southfield Towing, we met them when they came to one of theĀ cheese making class we attended.

The third week was a mix of cleaning rest of the things up and re-arranging things so that we minimize making a mess down the road. Being organized is still a trait that I am trying to master, oh boy is it a challenging one for me. But I will just keep working at it and improve on it over time. So spring cleaning has been a success and we are so glad to finally get back to our favorite thing, tending the garden and working on the farm and cows

On another note…

Yes and the cows are enjoying the fresh green grass!! This means fresh new raw dairy products for you!
