Fun abounds in Red Hook
Two stories out of Red Hook recently. One regards the Paris Burlesque Club, which we’ve covered before. Apparently it is operating as a strip club. Is anyone really surprised? Apparently the DOB and other licensing agencies, which say they do not have the proper cabaret license. But, hey, that’s what you get for living in a manufacturing zone.
The second regards a douchebag move by the owner of a lot used as a community garden since 1998. Apparently he or she wants to build a building on his vacant land. Cool. No problem. But to change the locks and then DUMP SAND on people’s gardens? That is just vindictive and poor manners. To top it off, he or she hasn’t even applied for permits yet! Come on man! Although, it is hilarious that the tipster to Brownstoner made me feel no sympathy for the gardeners by adding that “My big concern is that a building from scratch is going to be horribly ugly…And we still have no transportation, and that’s not changing any time soon.”
So all of Red Hook’s problems can be attributed to this one douche?
